Cottage Lane Twin Homes

We developed an 8-property neighborhood where homeowners can retire and live late into their lives in Chippewa Falls. We focused on features that help people age in place, meaning stay in their homes as they grow older.

We built four twin homes, which are similar to duplexes but share only one wall, for a total of eight properties. Each side of the house is considered an individual real estate lot. With the development clients in mind, we collaborated on selecting budget-friendly yet nice-feeling materials and amenities. Each home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms per property (meaning per each side of the building).

The front doors feature zero entries, or entry areas that are level and don’t require steps. This choice improves accessibility should the owners ever need mobility devices like a walker, wheelchair, or mobility scooter. The walkways around the kitchen island and throughout the space are wide, allowing for these mobility devices.

Our skilled team installed in-floor heat and energy efficient mini split units to efficiently heat and cool each home. The homes have partial LVT flooring flooring and partial carpeting. Carpeting dampens noise and creates a warm, soft surface. LVT is durable and easy-to-clean, so it’s perfect for higher traffic areas and places where food or liquid may make contact with the floor. Our initial builds also included tiled master bathrooms.

An attached garage provides space for keeping vehicles safe in all Wisconsin weather. Plus, there’s room for storing gardening tools and outdoor equipment.

We were able to implement a phase 2 for the Wissota Green Twin Homes, featuring coffered ceilings, standard walk-in showers and dual vanities with a shiplap accent wall. These features are budget-friendly yet offer a more high-end feeling.
